MAY 9 - ARLINGTON, MA - Candidate for State Senate Sean Garballey received the endorsement of the Arlington Firefighters Union today. A spokesman for the Union (Local 1297) announced, “We endorsed Sean because of his unwavering support for labor issues through his years in the House of Representatives. We know he’ll fight just as hard for working people in the Senate.” Their endorsement joins those of the Mass Nurses Association, the largest union of nurses and health professionals in Massachusetts.
Garballey, who has been serving as State Representative for 23rd Middlesex District for the last nine years, recently announced his candidacy to fill the vacancy left by longtime State Senator Ken Donnelly. “I am honored to receive this endorsement from the Arlington Firefighters,” said Garballey, “Especially as Ken was a firefighter himself in nearby Lexington for many years, it means a great deal to have the support of those he knew and served with. While we can never replace the hole that Ken’s passing has left in our lives, I am confident that I am the candidate best suited to continue his important work in representing the people of the 4th Middlesex District.”
